Vincent Chan

“There are some rule sets here for your tourney that are not my favourite but that's just personal preference. I thought that was a cool touch to award a popeye's container of creatine. Why not promote a business and their products. Consumers get a deal and the businesses benefits. Everyone wins.

I am definitely coming back to this one if I can get opponents again.”

“I am a purple belt who has competed in nearly 80 tournaments all over North America. This is one of the best run tournaments I have ever been to. I would say this one is on par with Revolution (Tacoma) and even better than AZBJJ (Phoenix) and IBJJF worlds. ”

“Tourney ran on schedule. In fact, my gi was 1 hour ahead and nogi was 2 hours ahead. Rather than waiting until certain divs were done (like all kids) you would just keep filling in mats with new brackets.”

The Prime way

We are doing things differently to change the game in the Canadian BJJ Tournament scene.

  • Strict adherence to size, length and color (blue, white & black gi only) per IBJJF rules

  • Weigh ins 60-90 minutes before your division time, called prior to the mats.

  • Fighter and spectator friendly layout, 18 mats per fight area and more.

  • At the end of the year the 3 highest ranking athlete in each belt and top academy scores will win.
